Museums to Visit in Florida
Visiting museums can be an excellent way to learn new, enriching information. While Florida is most noted for its sunny beaches and thrilling parks, visitors and residents may be surprised to learn that the “Sunshine State” is also home to many interesting museums. Some of these include:
- The Salvador Dalí Museum in St. Petersburg, FL – This museum is unique both inside and out. The rectangle design of the building has a large, free-form glass bubble protruding out of it. Inside the museum, visitors will find the largest collection of Dalí’s works outside of Europe – over 2,000 pieces, including oil paintings, original drawings, sculptures, and photographs.
- The Florida Museum of Natural History in Gainesville, FL – Ideal for history buffs, this museum includes a butterfly rainforest, a discovery zone geared towards children, a collection of Florida fossils, an exhibit on reducing energy use, and more.
- WonderWorks in Orlando, FL – Located near Universal Studios and Walt Disney World, WonderWorks is a self-described “amusement park for the mind.” This museum is the perfect place for inquisitive, energetic children and adults. It includes reenactments of natural phenomena, such as earthquakes and hurricanes, as well as a space discovery section, an imagination lab, and an art gallery, just to name a few attractions. There is another WonderWorks in Panama City Beach, FL, for those closer to the panhandle of Florida.
One of the best parts of these museums is that they are only a few hours’ drive from our apartments near The Villages, FL. To learn about PepperTree Apartment Homes, contact our office today.
