Making Snickerdoodles at Your Apartment by The Villages, FL

Baking cookies is a wonderful way to spend a weekend afternoon. There are so many recipes for baking cookies that it’s easy to experiment with different ingredients and tastes. Cookies are well-loved by almost everybody, so they also make for a great gift for any occasion.

Snickerdoodles are a special type of cookie that satisfies just about everyone. They have a cinnamon sugar coating and a delicious, sweet buttery flavor. Here are the ingredients you will need to make snickerdoodles at your apartment by The Villages, Florida:

• 1½ cups sugar

• ½ cup butter, softened

• ½ cup shortening

• 2 eggs

• 2¾ cups all-purpose or unbleached flour

• 2 teaspoons cream of tartar

• 1 teaspoon baking soda

• ¼ teaspoon salt

• ¼ cup sugar

• 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon

Start by preheating your oven to 400 degrees and then mixing the 1¼ cups of sugar, butter, shortening, and eggs in a large bowl. Stir in the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt. Then, in a separate bowl, mix together the ¼ cup of sugar and ground cinnamon. Begin shaping the dough into balls, and then rolling them in the cinnamon sugar mixture. Place the balls on a cookie sheet, two inches apart. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes.

You can make snickerdoodles with ease in our spacious, updated kitchens at PepperTree Apartment Homes.
